Wareham Select Board renews licenses, accepts donations, disbands alternative energy committee

Select Board · Meeting of April 7, 2026

Wareham Select Board renews licenses and approves warrant articles for dual spring town meetings. The five-member board, led by Chair Judith Whiteside, voted unanimously to renew seasonal licenses for Little Harbor Golf Course and permits for two second-hand dealers, and accepted donations totaling $242.85 for the library and Council on Aging. The board also unanimously disbanded the Alternative Energy Committee after it cited ineffectiveness against current state solar legislation, and endorsed articles for the spring and special town meetings covering the FY 2027 budget, emergency medical services, regional technical school funding, and sewer improvements on Sandwich Road and Minot Avenue.

Town Administrator Derek Sullivan presented a detailed FY 2027 budget comparison highlighting stagnated new growth and the town's hold-harmless status for state aid.
