Wareham Select Board approves shellfish farm ownership transfer

Select Board · Meeting of May 5, 2026

Wareham Select Board transfers a shellfish farm license and funds a $9,000 library gift. The board voted unanimously to remove the late Charles H. Maxim from the Crooked Cove Sea Farm, LLC aquaculture license and add Pamela Retsma as co-owner, renewing the 6.73-acre grant for ten years through 2036; applicant Joshua Retsma told the board he had worked the lease with Maxim for a decade before his death.

Members also reappointed constable Ronald A. Spear through 2029, appointed Angela Dunham to the Veterans Council, and accepted a $9,000 donation from the Friends of the Wareham Free Library for books and technology. Town Administrator Mr.

Sullivan reported roughly 200 residents attended last week's town meeting and said townwide line-painting and crosswalk work costs about $180,000. Race director Tim Richmond secured a permit for the June 7 Harvest Triathlon, saying, "We've been hosting triathlon events in the general area of Onset and Wareham since 2009."
