Wareham conservation board fines homeowner, orders sewer plant fill review

Conservation · Meeting of May 6, 2026

Wareham Conservation Commission fines a Long Neck Road homeowner $600 and presses the town's own sewer plant contractor over a wetland violation. Engineer Bob Rogers of GAF Engineering represented heirs of the late Paul Piscitelli in a case over an unpermitted driveway, patio and roof drains emptying into a former cranberry bog; the board approved a standard order with the pipes capped and a $600 fine. Separately, GHD's Mark, who disclosed a conflict as a sitting sewer commissioner, said a contractor pushed 164 cubic yards of fill into a floodplain at the wastewater plant expansion site; the hearing was continued to June 3.

The commission also learned it missed its 10-business-day window to appeal a state override at 28 Nelson Street because notice arrived in the mail two weeks late, and unanimously recommended Scott Parr, father of Chair Jessica Parr, as an associate member.
