Wareham Board Adopts New Fee Schedule, Finalizes Warrant
Select Board · Meeting of September 15, 2026
Wareham Select Board overhauls license fees and sets an 18-article fall town meeting warrant. Chair Sarah Corbitt led the board, with members Joseph Still and Judith Whiteside, in a 3-0 vote adopting fee increases effective December 31, including a one-day wine and malt license rising from $25 to $50, pawnbroker licenses rising to $250 new and $180 renewal, and constable licenses rising to $300 new and $150 renewal under new three-year terms. The board, with members Jared Chadwick and Marcus Gomes absent, also voted 3-0 to include 18 articles on the 2026 Annual Fall Town Meeting warrant, amending Article 7 to remove "sergeants" so it reads simply "Union Contracts." It accepted $3,200 in Council on Aging donations and reappointed Jennifer Pina to the Cultural Council.
"That simply was an oversight, so I'm suggesting we keep the $130 per table," Corbitt said of a billiard table fee. A T Street resident used public comment to report repeated truck damage to his property amid a lack of weight-limit signage.
