Conservation · Meeting of July 1, 2026
Wareham conservation board approves contested Atlantic Avenue rebuild, stalls jetty extension over abutter concerns. Attorney Tyler Franklin's legal memo persuaded the commission it has discretion to permit limited work inside its 30-foot wetland buffer; engineer Zach Besinski said the project cuts impervious coverage on the lot by 137 square feet overall. Commissioner Paula Jean O'Neill remained skeptical, telling the applicant's team the presentation left her "disinclined to rule in your favor," while Scott Sobey called the legal framing arrogant.

The board also approved three smaller wetland permits and continued five others to August.
