Conservation panel rescinds flawed Harbor View Lane permit
Conservation · Meeting of September 16, 2026
Wareham Conservation Commission votes to rescind a flawed Harbor View Lane permit. Chair Sandra Slavin and members Scott Sobey, Paula Jean O'Neill and Kwame Barney voted unanimously to rescind a certificate of compliance for 12 Harbor View Lane after Conservation Agent Josh found the prior approval lacked a required site visit and notice to easement holders Roger and Shannon Keyes, who said "we've been maintaining that... since 1978." The board will condition a replacement certificate on perpetual maintenance rights and waived the new application's fee. In a separate 3-1 vote, commissioners ordered a fire pit and bench removed from a Widows Cove Lane retaining-wall project over Sobey's objection.
The board also continued a pool and cabana proposal at 8 Burgess Point Shores to Oct. 7 for lack of site staking, and approved septic, deck and landscaping permits at four other addresses, plus two certificates of compliance.
