WAREHAM — Select Board unanimously appoints Holmes to Veterans Council, approves donations. The board, chaired by Judith Whiteside with Clerk Sarah Corbitt and members Jared Chadwick, Marcus Gomes, and Joseph Still present, approved the appointment of Richard Holmes to the Wareham Veterans Council for a term expiring June 30, 2027. The board also authorized the 2026 Senior Tax Work-off Program and accepted donations totaling $1,475 to the Wareham Free Library Gift Fund and $100 to the Council on Aging, including a $1,000 anonymous gift to the library and donations from Noah Young, Anna and Elijah LaMacchio, and Teresa Norton.
Chair Whiteside announced board support for state bill S 2738, which would establish a commission to examine homeowners insurance for manufactured and mobile home residents.
