Wareham Conservation Commission approves permits for three coastal properties, continues complex Atlantic Avenue project. The board unanimously approved Requests for Determinations of Applicability for developments at 16 Wareham Avenue, 1073 Main Street (West Wareham School conversion to seven apartments), and 30 Barnes Street, and two Notices of Intent for seawall replacement at 22 Pine Tree Drive and septic system upgrade at 2683 Cranberry Highway. The commission deferred a Notice of Intent for demolition and rebuild at 17 Atlantic Avenue to January 21, citing concerns about footprint expansion within the 30-foot no-activity coastal bank buffer zone and requesting design revision.
The board issued eight Certificates of Compliance and discussed a pilot vegetation management program for Onset bluffs addressing decades of illegal cutting.
