Housing Trust seeks return of $290K in uncollected property proceeds

Affordable Housing Trust · Meeting of June 9, 2026

WAREHAM — Housing Trust seeks $290K in uncollected tax title proceeds. Chair James M. Munise committed to formally requesting the approximately $290,000 in proceeds from 2022 tax title property sales on Avenue A and Apple Street that remain in the general fund despite Warrant Article 18 directing 50 percent of net proceeds to the trust.

The trust advanced plans for a $50,000 Community Preservation Act grant to update the Housing Assessment and Production Plan, with member Sandra Slavin researching comparable updates at other Massachusetts towns ranging from $25,000 to $50,002. Slavin will informally present to the Community Preservation Committee a proposal for an automatic annual transfer of CPA revenue (5 to 10 percent) to the trust account ahead of the July 14 grant submission deadline.
