Affordable Housing Trust · Meeting of March 10, 2026

Wareham Affordable Housing Trust pursues dedicated CPA funding stream, studies town properties. The Trust agreed to seek a 5% annual Community Preservation Act reserve allocation directed to the WAHT account, to be presented at the spring town meeting, Chairman James M. Munise said; the allocation would bring total CPA reserves to 40 percent, up from 35 percent.

The Trust also reviewed three town-owned parcels, including the Father Bill's site at 950 Main Street (1.68 acres, six units), for potential affordable housing development, with Munise to research options and bring back for continued discussion at the April 14 meeting. Nanette Perkins reported the 801 Main Street project faces approximately $400,000 in funding gap, and the Trust has committed a $60,000 CPA grant.
