Trust amends prior minutes, clarifies West Street project position

Affordable Housing Trust · Meeting of January 13, 2026

Wareham Affordable Housing Trust clarifies West Street project position. Chairperson Jim Munise directed a clarifying letter to the Zoning Board of Appeals after determining that developer Dean Harris misrepresented the Trust's September 2025 endorsement; the Trust had backed only the "concept" of affordable housing on West Street, not the current 20-unit proposal before the ZBA (a 33 percent increase from the 14-unit 2023 concept). The board, with Clerk Carl Schulz, Sandy Slavin, and Judith Whiteside present, voted unanimously to adjourn.

The Trust reported a June 30, 2025 account balance of $153,731.54 and plans to request regular CPC funding at the January 28 meeting.
