Wareham School Committee ratifies Unit C labor deal, bids farewell to Superintendent D'Andrea. The committee voted 5-0 by roll call to approve a memorandum of understanding folding six bus monitors into the Unit C bargaining unit, clearing the way for retroactive pay. Director of Finance Kristen Flynn reported the district received roughly $370,000 in state "extraordinary relief" funding for out-of-district special education placements, only the third time in her nine years with the district.
Members also approved fiscal year-end budget transfers, accepted a $5,000 gift from the Stone Cultural and Enrichment Fund for the high school, and updated the bullying-prevention policy per state guidance. Matt D'Andrea presided over his 518th and final school committee meeting as superintendent, with Vice Chair Kevin Brogioli praising his "steadiness" and "leadership."
