Conservation · Meeting of October 7, 2026

WAREHAM — The Wareham Conservation Commission approved Eversource's plan to replace aging wooden poles with steel along a two-mile line from the Tremont Substation to Farm to Market Road, voting 5-0. Engineer Eric Olson of VHB said work would begin in December 2026 and take about three months. The commission continued two contested hearings to October 21: a Burgess Point Road stone dispute, where abutter Marie said "I can't even get my wheelchair through the stones," and a Widow's Cove Lane deck project, where attorney Adam Gutbizal, representing an objecting neighbor, said the applicants "are looking for a blank check." The board also approved certificates of compliance for three properties and issued one for 12 Harborview Lane, 4-0, with a new notification condition for seasonal mowing under an easement.
