Conservation · Meeting of August 19, 2026

Wareham's Conservation Commission voted 5-0 to approve relocating a shoreline groin at 0 Pinehurst Drive after discovering its original engineer used a fraudulent stamp. PBIA president Kim Lona Scheib told the board a later survey found roughly 116 square feet of the structure sitting on an abutter's property, prompting the relocation plan presented by engineer Brian Wallace of JC Engineering. Conditions include 60 cubic yards of beach nourishment, hand removal of shellfish before new stone is placed, and work limited to within three hours of low tide.

Abutter Sheila Marinucci said she was "very relieved that the jetty is going to be moved off our property." Separately, the commission continued four Eleete Mainst LLC duplex proposals on Main Street to September 2 pending missing state file numbers, and member Scott Soby reported on early-stage work toward a townwide nitrogen bylaw following meetings with Town Counsel Attorney Bowen.
