Wareham Planning Board approves Route 25 solar array permit
Planning Board · Meeting of June 22, 2026
Wareham Planning Board closes six-year solar review, honors retiring member. The board voted 5-0 to approve a special permit for a large-scale, ground-mounted solar array on Route 25, wrapping up a process that began in 2021, and separately approved an overlooked MS4 stormwater permit for the site 5-0. Director of Planning Joshua Faherty was authorized to sign town bills up to $25,000 without board approval; anything higher, Faherty said, requires "a set of minutes of you guys taking a vote to approve such bill." Resident Nancy McHale asked the board to "extend it for at least another two weeks," but members pushed ahead partly because a scheduling delay would have cost them member Mike Baptiste, honored Monday for 37 years of service.
The board also approved two Barrett Planning Group invoices, $16,290.60 and $30,081.20, for zoning bylaw recodification work, bringing that project's total billing to $60,371.80.
