Wareham Plans ADA Accessibility Upgrades for Bandshell

Town officials continue to urge water conservation as outdoor watering restrictions and beach closure notices remain posted, while the library and community groups roll out a busy slate of summer programming this week.

The Town of Wareham continues to advise residents of outdoor watering restrictions and beach closures, part of ongoing seasonal management efforts, according to a notice posted on the town's official website. Separately, the town flagged National Grid gas meter replacement work affecting residents, along with a reminder that the town's Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is scheduled for August 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road, requiring a Wareham or Carver transfer station sticker.

Town officials also highlighted ADA improvements underway at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell and reminded residents that the Wareham Silver Alert Program, a new initiative to help locate missing seniors, has launched. Several boards have meetings on the calendar for the coming week, including the Select Board, Planning Board, Community Events Committee, Veterans Council, and Library Trustees.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Wareham Free Library has shifted to summer hours, now closed Saturdays through Labor Day. The library's events lineup this week includes "Stories of Fenway Park" with Nancy Franks, held Wednesday evening, July 8, and a "Laser Tag In the Library" program set for Friday, July 10, at 6 p.m.

Looking into next week, the library will host a rescheduled "FOAMTASTIC PARTY" on Monday, July 13, at 1 p.m., and its "Concerts on the Lawn" series continues that same evening at 7 p.m. with a performance by Sarah Martin. Elsewhere in town, the Wareham Gatemen host an Autograph Night home game Saturday, July 11, and the Onset Bay Association's Summer Soiree Fundraiser is also scheduled for that Saturday.
