Sewer board OKs $50,000 lab contract, corrects article language

Wareham sewer board fixes misstated town meeting article, orders emergency bridge pipe repair. The Board of Sewer Commissioners voted unanimously to correct Article S-15 after member Sandy Slavin found the filed version described the $3.5 million transfer generically instead of earmarking it for the Sandwich Road force main, saying "I just had never seen an article written that didn't match what was done on town meeting floor." The board also approved a not-to-exceed $50,000 testing contract with Rhode Island Analytical, replacing longtime vendor Pace Analytical, and heard from board member Scott Sobey that a malfunctioning pump drive forced up to 250 gallons of sewage from a vent pipe on the Point Independence Bridge in Onset, prompting plans for emergency replacement of the 55-year-old force main. May 15 strategy-session minutes passed 4-0-1.

The board also raised hiring public relations support to high priority.
