Board approves $3.7M sewer commitment despite shortfall
Sewer Commissioner · Meeting of August 13, 2026
Wareham sewer board approves $3.7M budget despite shortfall. The Board of Sewer Commissioners unanimously adopted the first-half fiscal 2027 sewer usage commitment of $3,686,459.19 despite an $800,000 anticipated shortfall that will be covered through Reserve Funds. WPCF Director Scott Kraihanzel attributed the lower figure to a nursing home going offline.
The board discussed rate increases but opted not to pursue them. The board unanimously approved Amendment #2 to the Weston and Sampson Engineers contract for an OPM Phase II time extension. The treatment plant continues to receive odor complaints; the director expects an odor control system startup by early September.
