Wareham sewer board approves $101,200 GHD contract change 4-1 after tabling motion fails. The Board of Sewer Commissioners spent nearly 20 minutes untangling conflicting "Exhibit A" paperwork on GHD Engineering's grant-funded outfall study before voting 4-1 to approve the change order; a prior motion to table it failed 1-3-1. Commissioner Scott Sobey said the district's 1.56-million-gallon-per-day permit could support roughly 1,060 more houses, and outlined a proposal to reroute the Kennedy Pump Station around the Narrows station, calling Narrows a "linchpin" vulnerable to storm flooding.
The board also revisited its 2004 Open Meeting Law violation after a resident's email, agreeing bare-bones agendas need "a little bit more meat," and confirmed it will elect a new chair, clerk and vice chair at its July 9 meeting.
