Wareham Recycling Committee approves expanded hazardous materials program

Wareham Recycling Committee approves $1,000 deposit to hazardous materials facility and battery collection program. The Committee voted unanimously on June 17 to deposit $1,000 at the Veolia facility in Sutton to allow residents and the center to deliver hazardous materials at no charge, and to submit an application to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for a new battery collection program by August 31. Chair Jennifer Gady, Treasurer Amanda Cobb, and members Andrew Gallagher and Wanda Savary also unanimously approved new security locksets and a combination lock for the center's sheds and front gate in response to after-hours activity.

The Committee approved Gallagher's three-year membership renewal and voted to skip July's meeting.
