Wareham imposes outdoor watering restrictions amid beach closures
Town officials have imposed outdoor watering restrictions alongside beach closures, while the town's cultural calendar fills out with a whale-themed library event, a historical society talk and a lawn concert series in the coming days.

The Town of Wareham has announced outdoor watering restrictions paired with beach closures, according to a notice posted on the town's official website. The town did not detail the specific triggers or duration of the restrictions in the notice, though residents are directed to check the town website for beach-by-beach closure status.
Separately, the town highlighted its new Wareham Silver Alert Program, described as a collaborative effort to help locate missing seniors. The town also flagged a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day set for August 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at Municipal Maintenance, 95 Charge Pond Road, requiring a Wareham or Carver transfer station sticker, and noted ADA improvements underway at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell.

The Wareham Free Library's July Book Sale runs July 23 through 25, paired with a special quilt raffle fundraiser, with the raffle drawing held on the final day, July 25. The library will also host "Meet Delilah," a life-sized inflatable whale program, on Monday, July 27 at 10 a.m.
Later that same evening, the library's lawn concert series continues with the Unlikely Strummers performing at 7 p.m. on July 27. Two days later, on July 29 at 6:30 p.m., the Wareham Historical Society presents "Wareham In 1776," a look back at the town's Revolutionary-era history, at the library.

The library's July Book Sale and Quilt Raffle Fundraiser continues through Saturday, July 25, with the raffle drawn that day. The Wareham Gatemen host Falmouth this Saturday, July 25, with an autograph night also on the schedule. The library hosts "Meet Delilah - Life Sized Inflatable Whale" on Monday, July 27 at 10 a.m., followed that evening by "Concerts on the Lawn: Unlikely Strummers" at 7 p.m., also the date of a Community Events Committee meeting. On Wednesday, July 29, the Gatemen play another home game, the Wareham Historical Society presents "Wareham In 1776" at 6:30 p.m. at the library, and the 18th Annual Onset Summer of Love Music Series continues. The Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day follows on August 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at 95 Charge Pond Road.
