Select Board · Meeting of October 20, 2026
WAREHAM — The Wareham Select Board voted 3-2 to recommend favorable action on a petitioned parking bylaw article ahead of Monday's Fall Town Meeting. Alan Slavin's article would let businesses count public parking within three-eighths of a mile, and Attorney Richard Bowen said officials had given "the expectation or the promise" that it would come up in October. Chair Sarah Corbitt and Clerk Judith Whiteside voted no.
The board recommended favorable action 5-0 on declaring landfill land surplus for a possible 30-year lease, and 4-0 with one abstention on the union contracts. It denied 5-0 a request to subordinate the town's housing-rehab mortgage behind a roughly $60,000 loan. Derek Sullivan reported a $2.3 million Fair Share grant for the Fearing Hill Bridge.
