Wareham Launches Silver Alert Program for Missing Seniors

DATELINE — WAREHAM

Wareham this week rolled out a new Silver Alert Program, a collaborative initiative designed to help locate missing seniors across town. The launch comes as the town also pushes forward on accessibility upgrades at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell and promotes a new free-ride partnership with Circuit ahead of the state primary.

TOWN HALL

The Wareham Silver Alert Program is a collaborative effort involving town officials and public safety partners aimed at speeding up the search when a senior resident goes missing. The town posted the initiative as a new safety measure on its official site this week, though further operational details, including how residents can register a loved one or report an alert, were not yet spelled out.

Separately, the town confirmed that ADA accessibility improvements are underway at the Lillian Gregerman Bandshell. Wareham is also promoting a free-ride program with Circuit, giving residents another transportation option around town, and has posted voting information ahead of the state primary election.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Wareham Free Library has installed a new Story Walk exhibit, "Ice Cream Summer" by Peter Sis, letting families read a picture book page by page as they walk a trail at the library grounds. The installation joins the library's rotating slate of hands-on programming for younger patrons.
