Zoning Board approves two special permits; continues two variance hearings.

Wareham Zoning Board approves special permits for Union Street and Barnes Street properties. Acting Chair Jim Eacobacci presided as the board voted unanimously to approve a special permit converting 9 Union Street back to a two-family structure with minor external additions, on condition of internal sign illumination during non-daylight hours, and to approve a special permit for a reduced-footprint replacement deck with wheelchair accessibility at 23A Barnes Street. The board continued hearings on 17 Atlantic Avenue to July 8, 2026, pending Conservation Commission review, and Hidden Trails Lots 1-56 to June 24, 2026, due to questions about board composition with the Chairman absent in person.
