Wareham Redevelopment Authority approves $83,024 Ride Circuit funding over dissent.

Wareham Redevelopment Authority votes 4–1 to fully fund an $83,024 mini-transport pilot program for Onset Village. Chair Dan Butler dissented, arguing it was a poor use of redevelopment funds. Town Administrator Derek Sullivan noted that Onset parking sticker sales have surged from approximately 4,700 to 6,300 annually, creating pressure on residents and visitors.
The $30,000 balance of the commitment is contingent on Town Meeting approval on April 27, 2026, and would be offset by Onset Parking revenue. The authority also appointed Judith Whiteside Clerk pro-tem unanimously and continued discussion of Downtown Dollars, Main Street America, the Tremont Nail Factory property, and Merchants Way dumpster concealment to the next meeting.
