Wareham approves $74.5M FY27 operating budget at spring town meeting. Moderator Margaret Ishihara oversaw 179 voters in raising and appropriating $74,548,975 from levy, state and local receipts, plus transfers totaling $1,289,075 from enterprise funds and designated accounts. The town also appropriated $300,000 for Cranberry Manor Phase II, a 40-unit senior affordable housing project, and $700,000 for a permanent conservation restriction on the 98-acre Beaverdam Creek parcel.
Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School District received its FY2027 assessment of $3,973,330, and voters approved a plastic bag reduction bylaw prohibiting thin-film single-use plastic bags at retail establishments, with the Town Administrator designated as enforcement officer.
