Veterans Council appoints civilian member, approves prior minutes

Wareham Veterans Council unanimously appointed civilian member Angela Dunham and approved prior minutes at its April 15 meeting. Chair David G McClure led the council in recognizing Coast Guard Station Woods Hole's Jack Downey Most Outstanding Unit award for 14 rescues. Select Board Chair Judith Whiteside announced progress toward declaring Wareham a Purple Heart Community in honor of four Vietnam War fatalities.

The council is planning the November 11 Veterans Day Parade with offers of support from the Elks Club and Wareham Garden Club, which will plant 250 bulbs near Town Hall.
