Town votes $26 million borrowing for sewer system rebuild

Wareham spring town meeting votes to authorize $26 million for major sewer infrastructure project. Moderator Margaret Ishihara presided as Sewer Commissioner Sandra Slavin moved approval for the borrowing, which passed by two-thirds majority. The town also approved $2.845 million in capital spending, including $1.5 million for Fearing Hill Bridge, and transferred $3.5 million from retained earnings toward sewer project costs.
