Sewer Board charts $26 million Narrows Force Main project strategy

Wareham Sewer Commissioners advance $26 million Narrows force main funding plan. The five-member board unanimously approved a $245,218 contract with Chadwick Barras for a camera truck and agreed to request Town Meeting approval for a single article rescinding a prior $6 million authorization and authorizing $26 million for the three-phase Narrows project. Chair Jim Giberti, Sandra Slavin, Carey Paster, Robert Scanlon, and Dr.
Scott Soby discussed funding through EDU rate increases of approximately $130 per year and use of up to 25 percent of Retained Earnings. The Board also deferred a sewer bill insert and agreed to invite the Town Administrator and Accountant to discuss budgeting processes.
