WAREHAM — Community Preservation Committee backs $700,000 Beaverdam Creek conservation restriction. The Buzzards Bay Coalition requested the funds to acquire a conservation easement protecting 98 acres of forested uplands, cranberry bogs, and coastal wetlands on both sides of Route 6 south of Wareham Center. The Committee also approved a $300,000 allocation to Cranberry Manor II, a NeighborWorks senior housing expansion at 2220 Cranberry Highway, which will add 40 one-bedroom units for residents over 62 at 60 and 30 percent area median income, with a 29-year affordability deed restriction.
CPA matching funds totaled $263,000, down from the prior year's 24 percent.
