Cemetery Commissioners approve burials, monuments, and grave buyback

Wareham Cemetery Commissioners unanimously approved four burial licenses, two monuments, and a flat marker at their January 21 meeting. Chairman Jack Silva and commissioners Kathleen Bird and Susan Akins, along with Director David Menard, processed applications for burials across Centre Annex and Agawam cemeteries. The board reported ten total burials from October through January, including seven full burials and three cremations.
Director Menard announced a spring resumption of the delayed Centre Cemetery expansion and outlined goals including Agawam wall repair and fencing installation pending funding review. The commissioners unanimously approved a $941.98 purchase of cemetery grasses and voted to repurchase two graves from resident Laura Geigle at original cost less perpetual care.
