Board of Assessors completes abatement session, approves two Town Meeting articles.

WAREHAM — Board of Assessors approves real estate tax abatements and denies four applications. Chairman Steven F. Curry and members David Halberstadt and Priscilla Porter voted unanimously to abate six real estate applications and deny applications 34, 42 through 44 during an April 23 executive session.

Director Jacqui Nichols reported the abatement session is complete and submitted two Town Meeting articles: one enabling veterans to place homes in trust while retaining tax exemptions under Clause 22G, and a second releasing overlay funds for cyclical data collection. Final pilot agreements have been signed, closing out appellate tax board cases.
